Gumby Tries to Rob a San Diego Gas Station Store

So I was browsing the news section and I happened to come across a headline regarding a suspicious character trying to impersonate one of my favorite characters better known as Gumby

and here is what the robber was trying to go with...be warned it isn't pretty

So, how did this pan out in terms of the robbing part? Well police were told by the clerk that the Costumed robber just walked into the 7-Eleven store and demanded money....the clerk took it as a joke, and said that hes busy and has work to do. The Shameful [and possibly humiliated] Gumby robber made a effort to fumble in his costume to what may have been to get the gun buried deep within the costume and futher analysis showed that the green gloves were very awkward to getthing things let alone they looked awkward to handle things and instead of getting the intended gun he dropped twenty-six cents.

"The costumed character "can't pick up the money and he can't get the gun," Hassen ( the clerk I told you about) said. So when the other man pulls up in front of the store and honks, the would-be robber runs to the white or silver minivan and takes off, Hassen said.

San Diego's KGTV News reported that the clerk told his boss he didn't know who Gumby was and described the character in the store as a "green SpongeBob SquarePants."

Despite this cartoon calamity the police are taking this very seriously. In the video below it contains two clips. One of the actual supposed "robbery" and the next showing his partner joining him into the store. People may not recognize the person under the Gumby suit, but his partner is very recognizable, Hassen said.

No other robberies have been reported regarding the Gumby Robber since then
