Is the C-Stick Cheap?

I used to think so, but it's a fair tradeoff- you get the lowest possible powered smash attack at the cost of a slightly faster execution time. Once you train yourself to use it in tandem with other buttons and moves, it really shortens your vulnerability.

I do remember people hating it in Melee, just curious about how it is recieved on this forum.

When going for speed, I live by the C-Stick. It's also my preferred method of dsmashing as well as dairing, and who doesn't love a good DACUS?
If the button's there, use it.

That's been my philosophy. And, you have to take your hand away from other buttons, so it's not like it's without its drawbacks.

Smashes generally have quite a bit of lag, so it's not like your thumb is missing anything while not resting near A and B. And, you can always edit profile controller settings. Just switch L to A and mortar slide away!

I don't use gamecube controller i use the wii mote and nunchuck so it's not cheap to me lol

Would it upset you if you lost to a person using the C-Stick, then? And I mean more than the usual stinging upset that comes from a loss, but that they had an unfair advantage?

It's not cheap at all, it's actually a much more preferred method of triggering aerials, and allows for a few motions that without it would be otherwise impossible. An example of this is floating forwards as Peach while performing bair. Not gonna happen without the c-stick, I'm afraid, unless you've got some serious Melee speed with your hands.

Also, just a little fix, you CAN charge c-stick smashes by using z in the same manner as you would use a in a regular tap-smash.

Finishing someone off after Chain Grabbing with the Ice Climbers is where I find its most useful.

I use most of my aerials using the c-stick. Which sucks in lag sometimes because for some reason as soon as you land you use a smash attack.

I sometimes wish I could turn off regular smashes and z-grabs, and just use the c-stick, charging with z when necessary. In this manner it would be so much easier to do tilts quickly.
